How does Web Hosting work?
Imagine your PC, but in the cloud that your customers can access your website on. Web hosting consists of servers which are connected to the internet for storage and access. When you get a web hosting account, you have a part of a PC in the cloud on which to run your website or applications. Think of it as a blank canvas, which you can paint your own picture on. You have full control and ownership of your website and all of your content on the web server.
What tools or software can I use to build my website?
Our standard WordPress servers all include an easy to use and comprehensive control panel along our “Softaculous” software, which makes it easy to install open source software such as WordPress, Joomla, PrestaShop, and more. You can design your website, manage your emails, upload files, and install software all from a single browser window.
What kind of web hosting plan do I need?
This depends on the size of the website and data you intend to host, as well as the amount of traffic your website will be handling. You can always upgrade if needed. Basically the bigger and more popular your website is, the more power you need.
Purchased a hosting plan, now what do I do?
You will get an email confirmation and account information after you sign and your server is deployed. All you have to do then is log in and start setting up your website.
What does free domain registration mean?
We register one .com or .net domain name on your behalf for one year. You will be subject to the standard rate when it is time to renew.
Why does your hosting cost more than GoDaddy?
Quite frankly, because it is way better! Our hosting is built for serious businesses. Unlike the “cheap” hosts, we don’t cram as many websites on a server as possible. Many of our competitors which charge only a few dollars a month pack thousands of websites onto a small server to make a greater margin at the sacrifice of performance and security. That is not what we do here. You can be confident that you will always have the space and resources you need to run your business with a high level of security.
Can I host multiple domain names with my hosting account?
Our lower tier hosting packages are not set up for multiple domains. If you plan on running multiple websites, we suggest you upgrade to a higher tier which supports it. That being said, you can always “forward” as many domains as you wish to your primary domain name with any hosting account.
Will my server be PCI Compliant?
We can not guarantee PCI Compliance on shared WordPress servers. We can provide option PCI ASV scans and reports. The good news is, as long as you are using a PCI Compliant online payment gateway such as FastCharge or PayPal with WooCommerce, your website will be compliant.
